Bio

Adria Harris, an Alabama native, graduated from St. Pauls Episcopal High School in 2001. After high school graduation, Adria went on to play Division 1 basketball and shooting guard at Alabama State University. While at ASU Adria earned a Bachelor’s degree in communications and a Master’s in health education. In 2011, Adria was inducted into her high school athletic hall of fame and later inducted into the ASU ISTAP Foundation Hall of fame. For 8 seasons, Harris was also an assistant Womens basketball coach at ASU. Harris was the head girl’s basketball coach at G.W Carver In Montgomery from 2014-2021.  During her 7 year career at Carver High School, Adria led the Lady Wolverines to 6 Area championships, 7 sweet sixteens, 3 Elite 8’s, and 2 final fours! In her last season at the helm, Harris and the Lady Wolverines played in the State Champion game and she was also named Alabama High School 6A Coach of the Year.  

In November of 2021, Harris was named the new head Womens basketball coach at Bishop State! In her first year, the Lady Wildcats won a record 15 games straight, led by their First Team All American and Player of the Year, Cordasia Harris! They finished the season 20-7 overall, crowned ACCC South Division Champions, and Coach Harris was named Coach of the Year! On top of her many talents and accolades, Adria is the owner of the Montgomery Lady Magic Pro Womens basketball team, and she is currently in the final stages as a doctoral student at Troy University pursuing her PH.D in sports management. 

Adria’s ultimate goal is to become a major Division 1 head coach. She knows that with God all things are possible to those who believe! Adria will never stop BELIEVING! Her main objective is to empower women and others through the game of basketball by continuing to work hard, impact lives and make a difference!
